FLY91 Takes Flight on Goa–Solapur Route, Unlocking Tier-2 Travel Potential
In a strategic push to enhance India’s regional air connectivity, FLY91 inaugurated its new Goa–Solapur–Goa route on June 9, 2025. The maiden flight was ceremoniously flagged off by Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Co-operation, Murlidhar Mohol, marking Solapur’s official entry into India’s aviation map.
This milestone flight is more than just a route addition—it's a step toward empowering underserved cities by linking spiritual, cultural, and industrial hubs through efficient air travel.
Grand Inauguration at Solapur Airport
The first flight’s arrival at Solapur Airport was celebrated with a traditional water cannon salute. The event witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including Minister Jaykumar Gore and senior officials from FLY91 and the Airports Authority of India.
Although top Maharashtra ministers were unable to attend due to weather conditions, they expressed strong support for the airline’s regional ambitions.
“Solapur is now on India’s aviation map,” said Minister Mohol, emphasising the route’s importance for pilgrims, entrepreneurs, and families.
Flight Schedule & Services That Reflect Local Identity
The new Goa–Solapur service will operate four days a week (Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), catering to leisure, spiritual, and business travellers. In a culturally sensitive move, FLY91 has introduced bilingual in-flight announcements in Marathi and English, showcasing its commitment to passenger comfort and regional pride.
Strategic Expansion in Maharashtra
With Solapur added to its route network, FLY91 now serves eight destinations, four of which are in Maharashtra—Pune, Jalgaon, Sindhudurg, and Solapur. The airline will soon expand to Nanded, connecting it with Goa and Bengaluru in July 2025.
This expansion strengthens Maharashtra’s aviation footprint and contributes to the UDAN scheme’s mission of making air travel affordable and accessible to all Indians.
Connecting Culture, Pilgrimage & Business
Solapur is not only a textile hub but also a spiritual gateway to temples like Pandharpur, Tuljapur, Akkalkot, Gangapur, and Bhimashankar. By offering seamless connectivity to Goa—a top leisure destination—FLY91 is bridging two culturally rich regions and enabling greater tourism flow in both directions.
For business travellers, this route eliminates the long road journey to Mumbai and opens direct access to Goa’s international gateway.
CEO's Vision: Building a Connected Bharat
FLY91’s MD & CEO, Manoj Chacko, highlighted the airline’s commitment to unlocking economic growth through regional connectivity.
“The Goa–Solapur route enhances access for pilgrims, traders, families, and tourists. Our focus remains on linking underserved cities with reliable, efficient flights,” he said.
Why It Matters for B2B Travel Professionals
Corporate planners can now explore Solapur for meetings, religious events, and textile-related delegations.
Travel agents can offer new route combos and pilgrimage packages.
Consolidators gain access to a growing Tier-2 air network with predictable weekly frequency.
Regional operators can build custom last-mile itineraries with local language support.
Looking Ahead: FLY91’s Role in India’s Aviation Future
As FLY91 continues its growth across India’s second and third-tier cities, it is redefining what regional aviation means. By focusing on comfort, frequency, and cultural inclusivity, the airline is helping democratize air travel and promote holistic development.
With the Nanded–Goa and Nanded–Bengaluru routes next in line, FLY91 is poised to become a leading player in India’s regional aviation ecosystem.
Conclusion: A Route with Purpose
FLY91’s launch of the Goa–Solapur–Goa route is more than just a new flight—it’s a commitment to economic inclusion, spiritual access, and domestic aviation excellence.
