Akasa Air Expands in Rajasthan With Jaipur and Udaipur

Akasa Air has taken a meaningful step into Rajasthan’s aviation landscape with new daily non-stop flights linking Jaipur to Mumbai and Bengaluru. The airline began Jaipur operations on 11 October 2026 and is set to add Udaipur from 15 October 2026.

For B2B travel professionals, this is more than a route launch. It expands domestic seat inventory into two high-demand leisure and business markets, while improving access for tourists, corporate travellers, wedding groups and FIT bookings.

Why Jaipur Matters for Akasa Air

Jaipur is now Akasa Air’s first operational destination in Rajasthan, creating a direct gateway between the state capital and two of India’s most important metro markets.

Mumbai and Bengaluru are not just large source cities. They are also major hubs for business travel, family visits, weekend getaways and onward domestic or international connections.

Mumbai strengthens access to India’s busiest aviation ecosystem and global long-haul connectivity.
Bengaluru supports corporate, technology and startup-driven travel demand.
Jaipur gains more choice for short-break tourism and business itineraries.
Travel sellers can build more flexible Rajasthan packages around direct air access.

The launch was marked with a ceremonial lamp-lighting at Jaipur International Airport, highlighting the airline’s intent to build a visible presence in the region.

Daily Non-Stop Schedule Supports Demand

Akasa Air’s published schedule includes two daily non-stop services from Jaipur, making same-day business and leisure travel more practical for passengers.

The airline’s timetable, as announced, is as follows:

QP 1153 Mumbai to Jaipur: 9:10 am to 11:10 am
QP 1154 Jaipur to Mumbai: 12:00 pm to 1:55 pm
QP 1529 Bengaluru to Jaipur: 8:20 am to 10:50 am
QP 1530 Jaipur to Bengaluru: 11:30 am to 2:00 pm

Short-haul direct services are especially valuable for agents designing weekend breaks, wedding travel, and business round trips. They also reduce the friction caused by connection timing, which can improve conversion for time-sensitive customers.

Udaipur Launch Will Broaden Rajasthan Coverage

Akasa Air’s planned Udaipur entry on 15 October 2026 extends its Rajasthan presence beyond the capital. That matters because Udaipur serves a very different travel profile from Jaipur.

Jaipur typically attracts heritage travellers, cultural tourists, MICE interest, and domestic visitors planning broader Rajasthan circuits. Udaipur, meanwhile, is associated with lakeside luxury, destination weddings, premium leisure, and high-value holiday demand.

This dual-city strategy can help travel businesses design better itineraries across the state.

Jaipur works well for heritage, shopping, and cultural sightseeing.
Udaipur appeals to leisure travellers and premium wedding segments.
Multi-city Rajasthan itineraries become easier to package and sell.
Agents may gain better arrival and departure combinations for circuit-based tours.

For now, travel partners should verify Udaipur’s exact route structure, frequency, and timings once the airline publishes the final schedule.

What This Means for Travel Agents and Tour Operators

Rajasthan’s tourism economy depends heavily on access. When airlines add direct routes, they reduce barriers for short-break travellers and create more bookable inventory for the trade.

That said, stronger air connectivity does not automatically guarantee higher passenger volumes. Fare competitiveness, load factors, seasonal demand, and ancillary costs will still influence booking behaviour.

For B2B stakeholders, the practical opportunity lies in packaging.

Build 2–4 night Jaipur and Udaipur itineraries around direct metro access.
Promote flight-plus-hotel bundles for weddings and premium leisure.
Use direct services to target corporate travellers with tight schedules.
Compare total fare value, baggage rules, and connection savings before quoting.

Hotels, DMCs, and ground handlers may also benefit if the new routes encourage more consistent demand across peak and shoulder seasons.

Rajasthan’s Tourism Value Grows With Better Connectivity

Direct links to Mumbai and Bengaluru strengthen Rajasthan’s positioning in domestic tourism. They make it easier for travellers to choose the state for weekend breaks, cultural holidays, family travel, and business-led trips.

For corporates, the route development can support faster turnaround travel into Jaipur while giving companies more flexibility for meetings, events, and site visits.

For leisure sellers, it creates a stronger case for city-centric packages and multi-destination Rajasthan journeys.

KEY TAKEAWAY

Akasa Air’s Jaipur launch and planned Udaipur expansion improve Rajasthan’s air access at a time when travellers value convenience, speed, and route choice. For B2B travel professionals, the opportunity is to turn better connectivity into stronger packages, smarter itineraries, and higher-value bookings.
