Air India and Singapore Airlines Deepen India-Singapore Connectivity

Air India and Singapore Airlines are set to broaden their commercial partnership from 15 October 2026, unlocking a more flexible booking experience across 126 weekly flights linking Singapore with eight major Indian cities.

For B2B travel agents, this is more than a route update. It signals easier access to inventory, smoother itinerary construction, and stronger value for corporate and premium travellers moving between two of Asia’s most important business markets.

What’s Changing from 15 October 2026

The biggest shift is the removal of a key booking condition in the current codeshare structure.

Until now, some eligible Air India-operated and Singapore Airlines-operated codeshare bookings had to be paired with a connecting flight on the partner airline. Under the new phase, customers will be able to book eligible flights operated by either carrier on a standalone basis through the other airline’s website, mobile app, and appointed travel agencies.

That means more direct choice for agents, simpler fare shopping, and better alignment with traveller preferences.

More standalone booking options across eligible codeshare flights
Easier itinerary planning for Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad
Better flexibility for corporate travellers with fixed schedules
Improved access through airline digital channels and authorized travel agencies

Why This Partnership Matters for Travel Agents

India-Singapore traffic remains one of the most commercially important short-haul international corridors in Asia. With strong demand from business travel, premium leisure, VFR, and onward connections, even small booking improvements can have a meaningful sales impact.

This expanded cooperation should help agents build cleaner travel options for clients who want convenience without losing network reach. It also strengthens the role of both carriers as key players in regional and long-haul connectivity.

For corporate travel planners, the practical upside is reduced booking friction, better schedule combinations, and fewer compromises when balancing cost, route, and loyalty needs.

Frequent Flyer Benefits Will Also Improve

The airlines are not stopping at booking flexibility. They are also preparing stronger reciprocal benefits for loyalty members.

In April 2026, mileage accrual was already enhanced for Maharaja Club and KrisFlyer members through broader eligible booking classes and revised earn rates across cabins.

From the second quarter of 2027, eligible members can expect additional reciprocal perks on qualifying routes, over and above existing Star Alliance benefits.

Maharaja Club Platinum and KrisFlyer PPS Club members will receive priority check-in and boarding
Maharaja Club Silver and KrisFlyer Elite Silver members will get additional baggage allowances and priority boarding
Premium travellers gain a more consistent experience across both airline ecosystems
Agents can position loyalty benefits more effectively during corporate and premium bookings

Corporate Travel Could Benefit the Most

The two airlines have indicated that further initiatives are under discussion, including better schedule connectivity, reduced layovers, and more tailored offerings for corporate customers.

That matters because business travel buyers are increasingly looking for reliability, consistent service, and fewer touchpoints across a trip. A stronger partnership can support those expectations while giving travel managers more control over duty-of-care and traveler satisfaction.

For B2B sellers, this is a useful opportunity to re-engage accounts that frequently travel between India and Singapore.

Key Commercial Opportunities for B2B Travel Professionals

Bundle the partnership story into corporate account pitches for India-Singapore travel
Highlight improved flexibility for flyers who need one-stop booking convenience
Promote loyalty and baggage benefits to premium and repeat travellers
Use the expanded network to design smarter regional and long-haul connections

What Happens Next

The current expansion is the first phase under the Commercial Cooperation Framework Agreement signed in January 2026. With 126 weekly flights and a broad network already in place, the partnership creates a stronger base for future collaboration.

Air India and Singapore Airlines currently codeshare across 77 destinations in 27 countries and territories, connecting through their hubs in Delhi, Mumbai, and Singapore. That gives travel professionals wide-ranging options for Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, and beyond.

As demand grows, this partnership is likely to become even more important for agents looking to combine reach, convenience, and loyalty value in one booking strategy.

CONCLUSION

The expanded Air India–Singapore Airlines partnership is a meaningful win for the B2B travel ecosystem. It improves booking flexibility, strengthens loyalty value, and creates better commercial opportunities for agents serving corporate and premium travellers.

For travel professionals, now is the time to update sales conversations, review itinerary options, and position this partnership as a smarter solution for India-Singapore demand.
